We do not advertise beyond our Web site and that of a couple of
listings in some writers' books. Almost all of our business is by word
of mouth, and repeat authors who once again anxiously seek both our
publishing services and a continued personal relationship with the ABP
team.
Authors Should Advertise To Sell Books!
Our authors who have been successful in
selling their books have had excellent advertising to go along with
their marketing and promotion plan/s. Sales come about when an author's book gets noticed by those who buy books. Self-published books usually don't become good sellers without having some money and personal time
invested in them for promotion. Get ready to promote yourself along
with your book. Get ready to spend time and money to put your book in
front of those who need to see it in order to buy it. An author cannot
sit and wait for book sales to materialize. An author has to be
proactive to have success in book sales. Do not depend on us to sell
your book; we are publishers, not promoters.
ABP will, with your permission, and as already promised above, get the
proper book distributor for your book, and their system of placing
books before the eyes of the book industry buyers for various bookstore
chains and private stores. We do not and will not guarantee that our
company will sell one copy of an author's book. Nobody can make someone
else buy an author's book. The book buying industry is nothing more
than a"crap shoot". An author must set aside money for advertising
their book. This is essential. You do not buy a car without having any
gas money. The same principle and thinking should be used when selling
your book. Advertising is necessary and it costs money, lots of money.
Have enough money saved for doing a sufficient amount of book
advertising. It behooves an author to personally promote his or her
book. Don't just sit on it, but prepare to show your book around and
get it noticed. When you publish your own book, there is nobody like
you to promote it and unless you pay someone else to market your book,
it won't budge; not unless some bookstore chain or private store
notices it and wants to handle it. You have to be realistic in your
thinking about the marketing and selling of your book. Do not depend on
anyone else to sell your book for you. Please!
